HGLaser launched its first dedicated intelligent laser welding equipment for fuel cell bipolar plates, advancing manufacturing technologies for fuel cell components.
2018
Fuel cell bipolar plate processing equipment was introduced into production lines of leading fuel cell manufacturers and achieved stable batch validation. Meanwhile, HGLaser continued technology development for welding ultra-thin titanium-based bipolar plates.

2019
HGLaser developed dual-station fuel cell welding equipment and dedicated single/dual bipolar plate helium leak testing systems, supporting customers throughout the journey from laboratory validation to pilot-scale production.
2020
Together with leading industry partners, HGLaser launched the first-generation fully automated metal bipolar plate welding production line and completed commercial project delivery.
2021
The automated production solutions were adopted by multiple automotive manufacturers and fuel cell companies. With a first-pass welding yield exceeding 98%, the overall solution continued to mature for large-scale manufacturing applications.

2022
HGLaser collaborated with hydrogen industry partners to upgrade the fuel cell assembly and welding production line to Version 2.0.
Fuel cell systems manufactured with HGLaser equipment supported hydrogen-powered vehicle applications during the Beijing Winter Olympics, while HGLaser’s bipolar plate welding solutions continued expanding their market presence.

Continuing to advance hydrogen manufacturing technologies, HGLaser launched forward-looking research into laser welding processes for bipolar plates and frames used in alkaline electrolyzers, expanding its expertise from fuel cell applications to water electrolysis hydrogen production.

HGLaser pioneered weld seam tracking and single-side welding technology with double-side weld formation for alkaline electrolyzer components, developing intelligent robotic welding systems with advanced process control.
