Recently, HGTECH has built a new energy shipbuilding demonstration base project that integrates R&D and design with intelligent manufacturing. The project has been awarded the title of "Smart Shipyard" and has become a benchmark in the global intelligent manufacturing field.
Driven by global environmental protection and low-carbon goals, promoting the transformation from traditional diesel ships to green and sustainable power has become an inevitable trend. This transformation not only meets the requirements of global green development, but is also a key step to improve transportation efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
However, traditional shipbuilding has many drawbacks: disordered ship types, uneven construction quality, processes that cannot meet the requirements of green shipbuilding, and heavy reliance on manual labor, which makes production efficiency fluctuate greatly. In addition, the shipbuilding process is complex, with a huge number of raw materials and formed components, high discreteness, and great management difficulty, which easily leads to waste. These problems seriously restrict the development of the shipbuilding industry, and intelligent transformation and upgrading are urgently needed.
Against this backdrop, HGTECH has designed and implemented the project of "Full-Process Smart Factory for New Energy Shipbuilding Base". It has innovatively applied self-developed high-end equipment such as laser cutting equipment, laser hybrid welding equipment, and full-format multi-head scribing and coding equipment, and adopted a number of self-developed new-generation information technologies including intelligent cutting line generation and recognition technology, intelligent mixed nesting technology, weak-feature high-precision recognition and positioning technology, AI + vision-based intelligent sorting system, yard management system, intelligent central control system, and digital twin system. This has realized the full-process intelligentization and minimal human involvement covering the entire workflow from steel material inbound/outbound, yard storage, loading/unloading, scribing, cutting, sorting, logistics transfer, panel assembly and welding, small assembly fitting and welding to longitudinal member fitting and welding.
Integrated with 3D vision and an AI-based intelligent contour recognition algorithm, the system can accurately locate each part and perform precise follow-up grabbing even in complex industrial environments and among a large number of workpieces with different shapes. It can easily identify part kerfs as narrow as less than 1mm, with an accuracy rate of over 99%, and its sorting efficiency is twice that of traditional manual sorting.

The small assembly fitting and welding production line adopts the automatic assembly and spot welding technology pioneered in the shipbuilding industry. Based on the welding model database, the software automatically calls up process parameters, independently plans the optimal welding path and heat input parameters, with a welding qualification rate of up to 98%. The panel assembly and welding production line adopts longitudinal member high-speed positioning and segmented intelligent welding, achieving an ultra-fast welding speed of 2.3m/min, and the assembly and welding cycle is 3 times faster than manual operation.
